NAVRO club house construction 28

Alblasserdam, 25 August, 2007 - Wednesday evening 22 August, some small jobs were done, like cleaning up and scratching paint from the floor tiles in the large room. Also a front cover for the kitchen ventilation was made and the switch for the bar's spotlights was installed.

Saturday was the big day: we moved most of our possessions. First we collected two cabinets and some other small items that had been stored several years in a members garden shed. After we unloaded them in the club house, we had to move a wall socket which was going to be covered by one of the cabinets. Next we loaded heavy stuff at our old location (the Mijlpaal). This included many boxes and equipment. The lathe proved more difficult to move than expected. It was too heavy to lift by four men. So the lathe itself was taken of its base and moved in parts. The lathe itself proved almost too heavy itself. Meanwhile Fred van Arkel, who couldn't lift, had moved the wall socket and painted the new kitchen worktop a second time. He made a top for the kitchen ventilation cover and fixed clips to it for easy removal of the front cover. After unloading and partly unpacking we used the van to get a large board of waterproof synthetic resin and four large concrete flower planters.
