NAVRO club house construction 27
Alblasserdam, 19 August, 2007 - Tuesday evening 14 August the last paint went on the bar. Wednesday evening we packed our stuff at our old location, because the bar was painted the day before and had to dry. Several dozen boxes were packed and almost a third of our stuff went in the trashcan. Thursday evening Peter Heeren and Pleun Punt applied a first coat of varnish on the bar. Friday Peter Leemker and Pleun Punt applied a second coat of varnish to the bar. Pleun Punt attached a towel hook to the wall of the toilet and Peter Leemker waxed the workshop's floor.
Sunday much work was done. Fred van Arkel continued with the extra worktop for the kitchen. He routed a nice curved corner onto it and painted it. Pleun Punt worked with his favourite material: filler to repair damaged parts of the walls, mostly around the recently tiled corner of the kitchen. Pleun Punt tried to silence the ventilation in the kitchen by taping over its seems with duct tape. We jacked up the workbench and placed a support under its legs, as they were just between two floor beams and the floor between was sagging. Pleun Punt also made a hole in the bar for the refrigerators' flexes. Peter Leemker finished mounting the emergency lightings and applied adhesive labels to them.
As the weather was finally good Peter Leemker put a final coat of paint on the front door. More work was done outside: Fred van Arkel secured the rain pipes at the back of the building with braces, Pleun Punt cut the bramble down again and Fred van Arkel and Peter Leemker mounted two outdoor lights, one at the back and one at the side.
