Motor tests

12 December, 2004 motor test Motor test CMT0410 at 12 December, 2004.

Motor research has always been an important part of the NAVRO's activities. Currently the NAVRO is working at an improved version of the K2000 motor. This project started in 2001 and has led to an improved version of our Kalinitrox propellant. A series of small scale tests with hollow tube grains and Bates grains where done to determine the burning characteristics. In the next phase of the project, which started in 2004, the test motors were scaled up to full size motors to get more realistic measurements. These motors have a Bates grain configuration, with approximately 1.5kg propellant. Current motor testing concentrates on finding the optimum propellant configuration and matching nozzle.

Below is a list of the motor tests of which a report was posted on the NAVRO website.
